Bioremediation

Bioremediation is a treatment process that uses microorganisms to decompose and transform toxic or hazardous contaminants into non- hazardous compounds.

Bioremediation uses naturally occurring or genetically engineered microorganisms. The process decreases the level of toxicity in the organic materials and reduces the potential migration of hazardous components in the media being treated, including soil, water, sludge and industrial residues.

Successful in-situ bioremediation is a precise exercise that is dependent on a variety of factors including but not exclusive to, the properties of the contaminated medium. The extent of contamination, the properties of the contaminant and the ratio of the contaminated medium to the amount of microorganisms applied to remediate the problem.

Remediating soils and water contaminated with hydrocarbons or other chemicals is an operational hurdle many energy company faces.
Enviro Care Limited Bio-remediation facilities are equipped to handle the waste generated by the Energy Sector. Enviro Care Limited has been the leader in bio-remediation services in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean for over 20 years.
